Topic and Main Idea

The topic of the article is that there was a tragedy in Kenya and we didn't really care about it until the attack in Paris.
The main idea for the first paragraph is that "Several people quickly found an article on the attack by the British Broadcasting Corp."
The main idea for the second paragraph is that "Many people feel that we react to terrible events differently on whom the victims are."
The main idea for the third paragraph is "People are more likely to care when terrible things happen to people and place to which they feel close."
The main idea for the fourth paragraph is " It is that closeness to Paris that made so many Americans express their sadness and shock on Facebook and Twitter."

Author's POV+Purpose

1) What is the author's point of view?
The author's point of view is that people should care about the attack on Kenya. In the text it says "The attack in Kenya was just as terrible as what happened in Paris." Another evidence is "It does not matter that we do not have vacation photos taken in Kenya or Beirut. We do not get to ignore the horrible killings in those places." Another piece of evidence is "However, that does not mean it is right for us to care less." To not care less about Kenya. More people cared about Paris than Kenya.
2) Do you agree or disagree with the author's point of view? Why?
I agree because I think that we should care about what happened in Kenya. The reason I think that is because there was a lot of people killed.
3) What is the author's purpose?
The author's purpose is to persuade because it's trying to persuade you that you should care about Kenya. "For that reason is understandable that Americans did not react much to the killings in those places."

Author's point of view

Article "Group says whales should be freed to go home"
What is the author's point of view?
The author's point of view is that he doesn't want the orcas to be in danger for example Lolita the Orca.
Give three pieces of evidence to support your answer.
#1 "Some may try to force Seaquarium to free her, by arguing in court that it is now against the law to hold her."
#2 "However Seaquarium has no plans to release Lolita."

#3 "There are now fewer than 80 orcas left in the Puget Sound near Washington state.Because there are so few, they are protected by the government.

Article "SeaWorld will end orca shows, but some say park shouldn't keep whales"
What is the author's point of view?
That they should end the orca shows.

Give three pieces of evidence to support your answer.
#1 "Visitors would like to see the orcas act naturally rather than do tricks."
#2  "However, they said the marine park should not keep orcas at all."
#3 "California said that ending orca shows is a good first step."

Exciting Moment

In my text The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod, Vlad has a girlfriend. His girlfriend's name is Meredith. But D'Ablo is back but Vlad thought that he was dead because last time he saw him dead. So I predict that D'Ablo is planning something to kill Vlad. But he might be the Pravus which is impossible to kill. So D'Ablo asks Vlad for the journal of his dad but he refuses and D'Ablo said he is planning on killing him. I predict that he is the Pravus and he will beat D'Ablo. I believe that he is the Pravus because one time D'Ablo killed Vlad once but he came back to life. The Pravus never dies so that's why I think Vlad is the Pravus. Although the Pravus needs to be half human and half vampire which Vlad is.

Sensory Language

In my book The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod the sensory language is "He slipped his soiled shirt over his head". Also there is sensory language in "Nelly's face had gone completely white, and her eyes kept flitting from Vlad to Otis".  Sensory language makes the book more interesting because if it's just a simple sentence it will make that sentence boring. For example if it was Nelly's face got white it won't be as interesting.  Also he slipped his soiled shirt over his head makes it more interesting.

Story Elements Influence

In my book The MisAdventures of Edgar & Allan Poe my setting is Professor's Office and the professor is trying to shoot one of the twins.  Edgar and Allan are trying to find their cat Roderick Usher. That cat was the last gift they got from their parents so Roderick means so much to them. So the professor traps the twins so they can't get out.The professor killed their parents but Edgar and Allan think that it was an accident. The professor wants to kill the twins because they are unusual because they think the same.

Edgar and Allan are feeling anxious and scared because they don't know what to do if the professor shoots one of them. But the cat saves them in time. The cat saves them by pushing a button. So both of the twins feel calm that they don't have to sacrifice no more. Edgar and Allan went back home and happy that they got their cat back.

5 Senses

In my book Edgar is identical to his twin Allan. He is identical to his twin because in my book it says that they are identical and it also shows on the cover of that both of them are identical. Also Edgar has dark black hair. I know that Edgar has black dark hair because in my book in the picture it shows that he has black hair. Edgar is tall. Edgar is calm when he's talking.

Protagonist/Antangonist

In my book The MisAdventures of Edgar & Allan Poe my protagonist is Edgar and Allan because they are both twins and the main characters of the story. Also Edgar & Allan are innocent. In my story my antagonist is Mr.Archer because he is trying to get the twins Edgar & Allan expelled. Also Mr.Archer is trying to make excuses for them to get expelled. For example Mr.Archer made up that they cheated on the test because they got the same questions wrong and right but actually they didn't cheat.

Story Elements

In my book The Misadventures of Edgar & Allan Poe my character Edgar has black hair,a twin, looks like his great great grandfather.Edgar was proud to look like his great great grandfather. My book took place is their house in their dungeon. They were in the dungeon because it was a school for them because they got expelled. They got expelled because their principal thought they were cheated but actually the principal was just making excuses to expel them.Someone sent him a note to expel them because the principal did something bad and they threatened him to expel them or else they tell everyone what the principal did.

Inference Post

In my book Edgar and Allan Poe series Book 1 the character Aunt Judith is argumentative. I know this because in the text it said that the boys Edgar and Allan Poe are going to get expelled so Mrs. Poe said "As a retired schoolteacher, I understand a lot about standardized testing," Aunt Judith said. "As my husband said, these boys do not cheat."
