Mutations

What have you learned about mutations?
I've learned that mutations are something you get when something went wrong. Half of the time these mutations aren't that bad. They're "neutral". They can be good or bad.
What is the most interesting mutation you've learned so far?
How animals can end up having two heads. I thought it was interesting because I've never seen such a thing.
I don't like sketchnoting. I don't like it because I'm not a good drawer in general.
What would I do differently?
I'd try to put more pictures instead of words. Get more information and detail.

About Me

Hi, my name is Jocelyn. I love pugs and I'm more of an indoor person rather than outdoor. I somewhat do like this year so far. I think it's more harder this year. I do like how things are going though. I don't think I feel as confident towards science this year. I just don't get science or it's just not one of my interests.

Literacy History

When I first learned my letters when I was 4. My mother made me write each one many times. In kindergarten my teacher always read to us. I used to love it when the teacher read to me because I always found the stories very interesting. The first book I've read was If You Give A Mouse A Cookie. I did enjoy reading it on my own because I found it very exciting that I read a whole book for the first time.

I remember when my mom taught me how to write my name was when she wrote it and I had to copy it. It made me feel happy that I wrote my name.  When I learned how to read and write I felt excited that I finally knew how to read and write. When I first went to school I felt scared. I felt scared because I didn't know anyone.

Night john Illiterate

How would my life be like if I was illiterate? I wouldn't be able to read or write letters. I would also not be able to learn new things. For example, I wouldn't know what numbers were. I wouldn't know how to use technology or anything. I didn't know the alphabet. I wouldn't be able to understand what money was. I wasn't able to learn math or any subjects because I wasn't able to go to school. I wasn't able to contact anyone either.

Summary

Branch Rickey thought that it was unfair that blacks didn't have the same rights as whites had.
At first, Branch Rickey was a coach in Ohio Wesleyan and he had a player named Charley Thomas. He was black and didn't have the same rights. He really couldn't do anything about it so he was planning on doing a "new experiment". He was looking for a black player to be willing to play for the major league . Wendell Smith told Branch Rickey that Jackie Robinson was the one for the experiment. After that Branch Rickey tested him if he was really willing to do the experiment. Jackie Robinson passed and he did it. They succeeded in the experiment and Jackie controlled himself from many names that white people called him.

Theme

The conflict of  I Need My Monster is that Ethan's monster (Gabe) went to go fishing for a week. Ethan was pretty upset that he couldn't find the right monster.  The theme of the story is that no one can replace you or imitate you. It's because no one could replace his monster Gabe.
